Table 60 Feeds Seniors in Winter Park

Table 60, the collaborative (bringing together community leaders and advocates for senior hunger) food distribution event geared towards food insecure seniors in Orange County was in full force once again. This most recent event was held on Tuesday, February 6th at the Winter Park Community Center. These events take a village; 60 volunteers joined us from different local Winter Park organizations such as AARP and Winter Park Housing Authority. Seniors were excited about getting their hands on fresh produce, bakery items and non-perishables as 103 seniors participated in this event ultimately feeding over 150 households.Participants were treated to different vendors in addition to receiving food.  Vendors such as AARP, Jewish Family Services and Second Harvest’s very own Chef Terah Barrios talked to the participants about the different services they provide. But in the end it was all the beautiful, bright and tasty food that stole the show, 11,375 pounds worth! Thanks is not enough to all the volunteers, coordinators, Second Harvest staff and vendors who helped put this successful event together.
